The Korea National University of Arts (K-ARTS, President Pyun Jang-wan) has unveiled its screening schedule for the first half of 2026. From March 4 to June 10, the university will host weekly
screenings of 14 acclaimed domestic and international feature films, bringing world-class cinema to the local community.
■ Wednesday Cinema: A Bridge Between Global Masterpieces and the Community
The 'Wednesday Cinema' program features two screenings every Wednesday (2:00 PM and 6:00 PM). The 2026 lineup focuses on films that have shaped contemporary visual aesthetics and
narrative depth:
· March: Kickstarting the season with the visually radical The Substance and Park Chan-wook’s mesmerizing investigative melodrama Decision to Leave.
· April: Featuring the Venice Film Festival’s Golden Lion winner Father Mother Sister Brother, noted for its elegant and witty portrayal of complex family dynamics.
· Later Sessions: The program includes Jia Zhangke’s sharp insight into modern Chinese society, A Touch of Sin, and Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s delicate exploration of loss and healing, Drive My Car.

■ Rare Film Collection: Preserving the Heritage of the 20th Century
Beginning March 7, K-ARTS will also host the '2026 First-Half Rare Film Collection.' Established in 2016, this program is a collaboration between the K-ARTS AT Lab (Art & Technology Lab) and
'Old Cine,' a classic film archive community founded in 2005.
The collection serves as a scholarly platform to rediscover true masterpieces of 20th-century cinema. Following each screening, the film prints are archived at the K-ARTS Art Information Center,
serving as foundational research material for future filmmakers and scholars.
